Markups - Calculation Type

Choose one of the following:

1. Percentage of Shipping Rate, Flat Rate Added to Total, or Per Item / Pound

Please Note: You may enter a minus sign in front of any of the following percentages or dollar amounts. This will create a markdown. Markdowns are treated like negative markups. If this is selected for the calculation type, you will see the following prompts:

Percentage of Rate - Enter a numeric value to specify what percent of the shipping rate to markup. For example, if you enter 10, then 10% of the shipping rate will be used for the markup. If the shipping rate is $10, then the markup would be $1.00.

Flat Rate per Item - For each item in the cart (including multiple quantities of the same item), the system will add set amount. For example, if you enter 2, and the customer orders 7 items, $14.00 will be added for the markup

Flat Rate to Total - Enter a flat dollar amount to be added for the markup. For example, if you enter 8.50, then $8.50 will be added to the shipping rate.

Flat Rate per Point - Enter a dollar amount to be charged per pound of the total order weight. For example, if the total contents of the cart weighs 12 pounds, and you set $2 per pound, the markup will be $24.00. Please Note:

These 4 methods of calculating markups may be used together.

2. Table with Assigned Basis to Calculate Flat Rates or Real-Time Rates

if this option is selected, you will be prompted with the following:

Basis:

Taxable Amount - Total value of all taxable items in the cart is used to determine markup.

Non-Taxable Amount - Total value of all non-taxable items in the cart is used to determine the markup.

Amount - Total value of all items in the cart is used to determine the markup.

Weight - Total weight of all items in the cart is used to determine the markup. (Please note that items that are set to free shipping will not have their weight counted).

Items - Total number of items including multiple quantities of the same item is used to determine the markup. You will see a table that allows you to create your markups. In the example, "Weight" is selected as the basis for calculation.

For Example:

From 0 Pounds (up until the next weight increment) --> Charge $0.50 markup.

From 3 Pounds --> Charge $1.00 markup.

From 6 Pounds --> Charge $1.50 markup.

From 9 Pounds --> Charge $2.25 markup.

From 12 Pounds and up --> Charge $3.00 markup.

If you need to add additional rows to the table, click the "Add Another Row" link at the bottom of the table.

Please Note: Markdowns - If you would like to use a markdown, then enter a minus sign before the dollar amount. Markdowns are treated as negative markups. When you are done, click the “Save Settings” button at the bottom.

3. Add Weight to Packages to Cover for Shipping Materials

The purpose of this method is to allow you to account for the weight of packaging materials (box, gap fillers, tape, etc). You will see a table that allows you to set how many pounds to add to the total weight to compensate for the packaging materials.

For Example:

From 0 Pounds (up until the next weight increment) --> Add 1 pound for packaging materials.

From 5 Pounds --> Add 2 pound for packaging materials.

From 10 Pounds --> Add 3 pound for packaging materials.

From 15 Pounds --> Add 4 pound for packaging materials.

From 20 Pounds and up --> Add 5 pound for packaging materials.

If you need to add additional rows to the table, click the "Add Another Row" link at the bottom of the table.
